For an explanation of some of the terms and options you’ll find on the site, check out the definitions and colors page. LIFETIME GUARANTEE Kate offers a 100% guarantee: If you are ever unhappy with your bag for any reason, return it for a full refund or exchange. If you ever damage your bag, please call to see about returning it. Depending on the extent of damage she may be able to repair or restore it to close to it’s original condition.

ABOUT THE HANDBAGS All hardware is solid brass*, either Amish made or imported, often from Italy. Stitching is nylon for longest wear. Each bag is crafted individually by Kate, and all designs are her own creations.

*(now offering chrome by special request) THE LEATHER Kate uses only the finest quality top grain cowhide. Leather is a natural substance, and the scars and wrinkles on each bag are a part of the history of the hide from which it came. She never covers the markings with artificial finishes or paints which will only peel and crack with time. Rather, the leather will darken with age and develop a rich patina.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Kate has been crafting leather bags by hand since 1971. She started crafting leather belts on the Ohio State University campus and later had a small leather goods store in Columbus. She now resides on a farm just outside of Newark and sells her wares at craft shows in Ohio and neighboring states.
