speedbumps The Speedbumps: Roots raspy vocals paired with an indie folk groove have earned The Speedbumps an IMA Award and showcases across the globe. Their eclectic mix of hollow bodied instruments paired with honest songwriting has brought praise from some of the industry’s top tastemakers at Relix Magazine, The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Americana-UK, American Songwriter, CMT Edge, and many others..

Because their approachable, Midwest style easily fits the soundtrack of people’s every day lives, the band’s music has been selected for various TV and film projects including PBS’s Road Trip Nation and the feature film Molly’s Girl. In addition, the Bumps have shared the stage with Andrew Bird, G-Love and Special Sauce, Amos Lee, Matt Nathanson, OKGO, Tim Easton, Crosby Stills & Nash, and Chrissie Hynde among others

In 2012, The Speedbumps were invited to collaborate with The Canton Symphony Orchestra resulting in a joint performance of songs from their first two albums at the historical Canton Palace Theatre. The band’s bassist, Kevin Martinez, (who has a master’s degree in Music Composition) spent 9 months developing and writing parts for all the orchestra members to perform alongside the group. The next highly-anticipated performance collaboration is scheduled for February 2015, which will also feature songs off the band’s third album, The Harbors We Seek (released November 2013)
