Every Year at the BereArtday Artwalk is More than People Expect

1 May

BereArtday is two art shows in one. The Berea Arts Fest Artwalk and the Berea Fine Arts Club Mayshow. Both are located on the triangle in downtown Berea, May 20, 2017. Every year some 40 artists on the triangle and another 12 artists take up locations in storefront locations around downtown Berea.

Guests set off to see great art but end up with much more then they expected.  Walking Berea’s historic downtown and meeting artists is just the start. Soon guests realize they meet shop owners, neighbors and other enthusiasts like themselves.  Before they know it, guests end up with a sweet treat from Dicks or Rocket Cow from the Cornerstone.  Don’t know what we’re talking about?  you will, when you come to the BereArtday, May 20, 2017.  10am-5pm.  Free and open to all.  See you there.

Art Walk Patrons Win Restaurant Certificates

4 Jun

aw2014This year’s Front & Center Art Walk, sponsored by Berea Arts Fest, featured a Passport drawing for gift certificates to local restaurants. Patrons whose Art Walk Passports were stamped at all 10 participating business locations were entered into the drawing.

Winners are Darlene Wolf of Willoughby, gift certificate to Cornerstone Brewing Co.; Maria Paganini of Broadview Heights, gift certificate to Mike’s Bar & Grille; and Karen Braatz of Parma and Ann Krych of Berea, gift certificates to Café Ah-Roma.

Thank you to the restaurants and to all the other businesses who took part in the Art Walk: Burchard’s Jewelers, Crystal Earth Magic, Expressions Fitness, Parkway Barber & Styling, Riverside Gables Bed & Breakfast, Suburban Clock & Repair and Z Salon & Spa.

Our special thanks go to the artists for displaying their wares and to the musicians for performing on a cold and blustery day. Most of all, we are grateful for those who attended, perused the artwork and shopped at downtown businesses.

Remember the Berea Arts Fest on Sunday, Sept. 14 on the shores of Coe Lake in downtown Berea. The 2014 all-day festival will feature new artists, new musical performers and a fun time for families. The Art Walk and the Berea Arts Fest are supported by funding from Cuyahoga Arts & Culture.
